Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Silas Anaconda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donald Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Silas Anaconda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Donald Stewart!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stewart displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Anaconda throws out the jab.

Stewart shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Stewart was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Stewart looking to control and managing it successfully.
Stewart looking to control but Anaconda is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Anaconda is desperately trying to improve his position but Stewart has a good base and remains in mount.
Anaconda bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stewart is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Stewart is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Anaconda wants to control from the top but Stewart keeps moving.

Stewart is looking for a triangle but Anaconda pushes his legs off easily.
Stewart is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Anaconda stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stewart swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Stewart is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Anaconda wants to improve his position but Stewart is controlling well.

Anaconda is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Stewart pulls his head out easily.
Anaconda is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Stewart lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Stewart is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Stewart wants to lay and pray for a moment but Anaconda keeps working.

Anaconda is trying to control but Stewart manages to pass to mount!

Stewart looking for a guillotine from mount but Anaconda is having none of it.
Anaconda tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Stewart tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Anaconda tries to reverse the position but Stewart maintains control.
Stewart landing strikes from the mount and Anaconda is in trouble!

and Stewart counters with a single leg into guard. Anaconda didn't expect that.

Anaconda looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Stewart pushes past his half guard into mount!
Stewart postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Anaconda looks a forlorn figure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stewart seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Stewart is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Anaconda is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Stewart lands a couple of digs.

Stewart avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Stewart wants to pass the guard but Anaconda is keeping the position.
Stewart loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stewart accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Anaconda looking for a sweep. Not yet Anaconda, not yet.
Stewart is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Anaconda throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Stewart escapes and throws Anaconda's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Donald Stewart showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Donald Stewart is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stewart takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Stewart slaps away a takedown attempt from Anaconda, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Stewart closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Anaconda's guard.
Anaconda can't keep his opponent in guard - Stewart advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Anaconda is staying active underneath Stewart, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Stewart connects with a nice short shot to Anaconda's temple.

Stewart got a little sloppy there for a moment and Anaconda has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stewart has managed to get both his arms back between Anaconda's legs - danger averted.
Stewart cracks Anaconda with a solid left hand.

Anaconda has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Stewart is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Anaconda.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Stewart wants to control but Anaconda is keeping him busy.

Stewart decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Stewart closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Anaconda's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stewart sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Anaconda's guard.

Anaconda looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Anaconda might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Anaconda working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stewart doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stewart manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Anaconda not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Stewart is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Anaconda is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Anaconda has escaped and now he's on top!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Anaconda wants to control from the top but Stewart keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Stewart takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The fighters circling - Anaconda throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Stewart has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Anaconda defend it? Stewart steps over the head and cranks it - Anaconda is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Stewart!
