The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smok doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bastard counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Smok takes a jab right on the kisser.
Smok throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bastard's waist but Bastard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smok off to one side.
Bastard throws a hook but Smok avoids it easily.
Smok with a lazy takedown attempt
and Bastard counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Janek Smok. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Bastard counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smok thinking.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bastard cracks Smok with an uppercut from hell and Smok crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Bastard's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Smok is rocked!
It looks like Janek Smok has been cut.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Bastard throwing strikes from guard but Smok blocks nicely.

Bastard stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Bastard rushes Smok and presses him up against the cage.
Bastard drags the fight down to the ground.
Smok stands and throws Bastard's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smok tries to advance to mount but can't.
Smok really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bastard is trying to get back to his feet.
Smok swings around for an armbar but Bastard sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Smok's guard.
Bastard tries to stand but Smok is controlling from the bottom.
Smok is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Bastard has his hands clasped together but Smok extends an breaks Bastard's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Smok.
