The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heaney misses with a body shot
and Holmes counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Heaney is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Holmes throws a nice outside leg kick.
A head kick misses from Holmes.
Heaney misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Holmes pushes Heaney away with a front kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Heaney misses with a takedown attempt - Holmes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Holmes throws a leg kick but Heaney sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Heaney changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Holmes tries to avoid it but Heaney manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Holmes to the ground. Holmes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Holmes counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Heaney is trying desperately to land a takedown but Holmes is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Heaney.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Holmes fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Heaney has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Holmes cracks a nice hook into Heaney's ribs.
Holmes scores with a crisp jab that stopped Heaney in his tracks.

Heaney lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Holmes moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Holmes lands a jab to Heaney's midsection.
Heaney takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
