Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pitbull Killer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaspars Timma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Timma has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Pitbull Killer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Timma tries to close the distance and clinch up but Killer swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Killer gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Timma counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Killer tries to break free but Timma pushes him back against the cage.

Timma pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Timma shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Killer as he avoids it easily.
Killer shoots in looking for a takedown but Timma manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Killer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Killer throws a front kick aimed at Timma's knee but Timma avoids it well.
Timma stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Timma wants it to stay on the feet.
Killer shoots in and drives through. Timma sprawls well.

Timma leaves Killer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Killer shoots in looking for a takedown. Timma tries to sprawl out of it but Killer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Timma manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Timma dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Killer. That did some damage!

A telegraphed right hand from Timma misses the target.
Timma swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Killer clinches with his opponent.
Timma has Killer pressed against the cage, preventing Killer from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Killer gets control of Timma's arms and successfully pulls guard. Killer will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pitbull Killer.
