The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Cortez misses with a head kick.
Cortez forces Mormont back against the cage and clinches.
Mormont misses with a body punch.
Cortez jumps guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Cortez is looking to sinch up a triangle. Mormont throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Cortez's body to avoid the submission. Cortez has instead reached around Mormont's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Cortez arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
