The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Some wild striking there from Popovich.
Popovich lands a left and a right that send Faggiani crashing to the mat, dazed. Popovich thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Faggiani is rocked!
It looks like Stefano Faggiani has been cut.
Alyosha Popovich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Popovich stuffs the takedown attempt from Faggiani. Faggiani gets slowly back to his feet.
Faggiani is still on wobbly legs! Can Popovich finish him?
Popovich throws a nice looking combination but Faggiani bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Faggiani shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Popovich pinned against the cage. Popovich gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Faggiani seems to have recovered his senses.
No joy there for Popovich, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Faggiani shoots in looking for a takedown. Popovich tries to sprawl out of it but Faggiani keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Popovich manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Alyosha Popovich has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stefano Faggiani.
Popovich lands a slapping body shot.
Popovich will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Faggiani fails in his attempt to clinch.
Faggiani gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Popovich gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Alyosha Popovich spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
