Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Beat was covering up waiting for the punch and Ward finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Beat is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ward is controlling him.
Ward looking to pass the guard.
Beat keeping moving, preventing Ward from controlling successfully.
Beat wants to stand up but Ward is controlling him.
Beat uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Ward fails with the takedown
and Ward takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Albert Ward has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ward rushes Beat and presses him up against the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Beat.
Beat tries a body shot but Ward blocks it.

Ward shoots in looking for a takedown. Beat tries to sprawl out of it but Ward keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Beat manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Ward shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Beat napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Beat is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Ward wants to lay and pray for a moment but Beat keeps working.

Beat is pressed up against the cage. Ward has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Beat down to the mat. Beat avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Ward sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Ward shoots in looking for a takedown but Beat manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ward's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
