PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rampage Djozilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glass Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Djozilla shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Joe but Joe pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Djozilla moves into the clinch.

Djozilla has picked Joe up - he's going for a ride! Djozilla dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Djozilla postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Joe to stand up.

Joe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Djozilla. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Djozilla is working for a kimura but Joe is defending it quite comfortably.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Djozilla seems to be working for a kimura but Joe defends the submission attempt.
Joe should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Joe is trying to control but can't.
Joe might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Djozilla kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Joe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Djozilla is working away from the top position though.

Djozilla is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Joe can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Djozilla takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Joe has his foot on Djozilla's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Djozilla works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Joe is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Djozilla has just dragged him back down to the mat.
You can see the frustration on Joe's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Djozilla tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Djozilla has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Djozilla is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Joe can't fight it off and eventually Djozilla manages to take the fight to the floor. Joe looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Djozilla uses his free foot to push down on Joe's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Joe.

Djozilla has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Glass Joe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Djozilla, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
