Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Creatine Punch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Akeem Kipligati! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Punch moves into the clinch. Punch pushes Kipligati back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Punch stops a takedown attempt from Kipligati.
Nice body punch from Punch. A shot in the inside from Punch. Kipligati looking for a takedown. A short body shot lands from Punch as the two fighters clinch.
Punch lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Kipligati is looking to take this one to the mat. Creatine Punch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akeem Kipligati. Punch throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kipligatis head. Still in the clinch, Punch scores with a nice short uppercut. A short uppercut from Punch. Kipligati drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Punch lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kipligati stalling in the clinch but Punch improves position. Good body shot from Punch.
Punch working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Kipligati misses with a hook from the clinch. Punch lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Punch digs a right hand into Kipligati's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Kipligati's gas tank.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kipligati looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Punch throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kipligatis head. Punch lands a shoulder strike. Kipligati changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Punch fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Kipligati looks gassed! Kipligati displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Punch throws out the jab. Kipligati shoots in and bounces Punch off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Kipligati stopping the sweep attempt from Punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Punch looking to control.

We're going to have a standup here because Creatine Punch wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Kipligati dives in and scores a takedown into Punch's guard. Kipligati postures up.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Punch is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kipligati is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Punch is trying to hold Kipligati in close to prevent damage but Kipligati has managed to pass into half guard.
Kipligati is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Punch sees it coming and defends easily. Kipligati prevents Punch from improving his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kipligati in particular looking to stall. Punch wants to improve his position but Kipligati is controlling well.
Kipligati moves nicely into side control. Punch is trying to control Kipligati's posture but Kipligati avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Punch is trying to get back to half guard. Kipligati is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Punch's shoulder. That is not cool.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Punch is trying to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Punch takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Kipligati has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Punch is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Kipligati yanks on the arm and Punch is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Kipligati.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Akeem Kipligati! After the fight, Akeem Kipligati was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
