Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mao Zedong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Valderama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ricardo Valderama was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valderama tries to clinch but Zedong is having none of it.
Zedong looks for a takedown but Valderama sprawls well.
Valderama doesn't manage to clinch there - Zedong circles away.
A lazy left from Valderama finds it's target.
Zedong fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Valderama avoids it really well and circles away.
Valderama is looking to clinch but Zedong is avoiding it.
Valderama wants to clinch.
Valderama closes the distance but Zedong moves to the side
and Zedong counters with a shoot takedown. Valderama fights it but they end up in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Zedong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Zedong slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Valderama is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zedong's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Mao Zedong wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Valderama throws a nice looking combination but Zedong bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Valderama misses with a body kick.

Valderama lands with an overhand left.
Zedong takes one to the chin there.
Zedong misses with a series of wild punches.
Valderama moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Zedong takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Valderama connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Valderama lands with a cross.
Zedong shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Valderama but Valderama pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mao Zedong. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Valderama lands a jab to the nose.
Zedong closes this distance looking for a takedown but Valderama circles away.
Valderama tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Zedong manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Valderama changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Zedong tries to score a power double leg takedown but Valderama sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zedong somewhat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Valderama drops Zedong with a beautiful combination! Zedong stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Valderama is looking for the KO!
Zedong is rocked!
It looks like Mao Zedong has been cut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Valderama looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Oh Zedong is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Valderama gets in close and tags Zedong with a short punch that almost sends Zedong to the mat! Oh Zedong is in big trouble! He turns his back on Valderama, trying to create some distance but Valderama rushes him, striking wildly and Zedong goes down! The referee tackles Valderama into the cage to end the fight! Valderama is one violent man!
