Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alan Karaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Piper II (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Peter Piper II was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Piper II! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Piper II looks to land a right hand but Karaev moved out of range. Piper II scores with a jab. Karaev misses with a looping left. Alan Karaev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Piper II lands a jab to Karaev's midsection. Piper II misses with a double jab.
Karaev darts in trying to clinch and Piper II counters with a stiff right hand. Piper II pivots, looking for a leg kick but Karaev is out of range and Piper II settles back down. Piper II circles away from the clinch attempt and Karaev takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Karaev tries to clinch up and Piper II makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Karaev really felt that one! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Piper II looks to score with a jab to the body but Karaev is just out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Piper II is looking to land body kicks. A slow jab from Piper II misses its intended target. Piper II misses with a looping left. Karaev throws a body punch but Piper II moves out of range. Piper II checks the leg kick nicely there.
Karaev tests Piper II's chin there with a solid looking shot. Piper II misses with an uppercut. Karaev saw that one coming. Piper II connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. A thudding body kick lands there by Piper II!
Karaev tries to keep at a distance but Piper II has taken the fight into the clinch. The referee calls for Piper II to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Piper II continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Peter Piper II. Piper II has managed to clinch.
Piper II manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Karaev tries to clinch up. A combination from Karaev does no damage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Karaev takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Karaev ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Piper II moves away. Piper II scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Karaev tries to clinch but Piper II is having none of it. Karaev is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Piper II thows a body shot but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Piper II avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Karaev tests Piper II's chin there with a solid looking shot. Piper II moves into the clinch. Piper II pressing his opponent against the cage. Karaev is trying to maintain a safe position but Piper II gets an underhook and turns Karaev into the cage.

Piper II has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Karaev. Piper II fails in his attempt to clinch. Karaev throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Piper II's head. Piper II on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Piper II lands with a thumping leg kick.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Piper II in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Piper II rushes Karaev and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Piper II blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

A telegraphed right hand from Piper II misses the target. Karaev misses with a body kick. Karaev lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Piper II scores with a jab to the head.

The crowd are getting on Piper II's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Peter Piper II. Piper II with a jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Good exchange - Karaev coming out on top. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Piper II connects with an inside leg kick. Karaev just misses with a punch to the body.

A close second round but Peter Piper II will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Karaev keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Piper II. Karaev throws a low kick but it's checked well by Piper II. Karaev lands a really nice looking cross but Piper II seems unphased.

Piper II misses with a body kick. Karaev cracks Piper II with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Piper II is rocked! Karaev connects with a solid leg kick. Piper II is still on wobbly legs! Can Karaev finish him? Karaev is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Piper II flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Piper II is out cold! Karaev holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Alan Karaev!
