PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sal Oxa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uran Tine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oxa comes to the cage accompanied by Jakup Ferri. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Oxa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Oxa tries to clinch up.
Tine wants to clinch.
Oxa tries to clinch up but Tine circles away and keeps his distance.
Tine shoots in and drives through. Oxa sprawls well.

Oxa fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tine, pushing him back against the cage.
Oxa tries to work over Tine's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Oxa gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Oxa pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Oxa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tine paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Oxa slaps away a takedown attempt from Tine, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Oxa rushes Tine and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Oxa jumps guard but Tine stands there with Oxa around his waist. Oxa gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Tine blocks a body shot from Oxa.

Oxa tightens his grip and picks Tine up, before dumping him to the ground. Tine manages to land in guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Oxa working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Oxa trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Oxa postures up in Tine's guard and throws a big left but Tine blocks it.
Oxa throws a strike but Tine rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oxa wants to stand but Tine is controlling the position.
Oxa is trying to control the position but Tine postures up.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Oxa holds on and takes a little breather.

Oxa swats away the attempt to clinch by Tine.
Oxa moves out of range as Tine throws a body kick.

Tine tries to land a leg kick but Oxa saw it coming and moves away.

Tine dives in and grabs Oxa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Oxa pushes down on Tine's head and hops out.

Oxa goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Tine fails with the takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Oxa tries to clinch but Tine moves away
and Tine counters with a head kick.
Oxa is looking to clinch but Tine is avoiding it.

Tine throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Oxa was covering up waiting for the punch and Tine finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Oxa has control of Tine's left arm, preventing Tine from doing any damage.
Tine stops Oxa from standing up.

Tine gets to his feet - Oxa follows without any prompting.
Oxa is looking to clinch.
Tine tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Oxa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Oxa closes the distance and clinches.
Tine is looking to break free of the clinch but Oxa has double underhooks.
Oxa jumps guard but Tine turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Tine drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Oxa gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Tine changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Oxa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Tine wants to take a breather but Oxa is having none of it.
Oxa is looking to control Tine's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Oxa avoid being mounted?

Tine is keen to just control but Oxa is a slippery customer.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Tine darts in and clinches Oxa up against the cage.
Tine takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Oxa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tine as he avoids it easily.

Oxa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Tine stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Oxa will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Tine misses with the body kick
and Oxa counters with an inside leg kick.
Tine tries a head kick but it misses.

Nice takedown defense from Oxa. No joy for Tine on that attempt.
