Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Midas Major (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junichi Ishikawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Midas Major!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Junichi Ishikawa!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Major shoots in for a takedown but Ishikawa shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Major looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Major misses with a head kick.

Major shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ishikawa's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Ishikawa looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Major passes into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Ishikawa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Major defends it easily.

Ishikawa has his foot on Major's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Major works his way back into a safe position though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Midas Major wasn't doing enough on the ground.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ishikawa tries for a takedown but Major sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Midas Major will probably get the nod.

Major closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Major is taking a breather. Ishikawa says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Midas Major has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Major shoots in but no luck this time.
Ishikawa swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Ishikawa isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Major stacks Ishikawa on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Major!

Ishikawa stops Major from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Major looking to control and managing it successfully.
Major is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Ishikawa is in real trouble.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Major wants to control but Ishikawa is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Major is looking for a sweep. Ishikawa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ishikawa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Major does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Major feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Major drops back looking for a leg! Ishikawa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ishikawa manages to kick Major off! Major jumps back into Ishikawa's guard.

Ishikawa is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Major frees his head nicely. Oh but Ishikawa has switched to an armbar! Major is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
