The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward throws a series of punches but Giachetti avoids them all with ease.
Giachetti misses with the combination.
Ward misses with a straight right.
Teddy Ward seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ward misses with a lunging right hand
and Giachetti counters with a one-two to the body.
Giachetti tries to clinch up.
Good exchange - Ward coming out on top.

It looks like Alberto Giachetti has been cut.
Ward throws an overhand right that lands on Giachetti's shoulder, as Giachetti tries to avoid the shot.
Giachetti showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ward.
Ward getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Ward jabs Giachetti right on the nose. Giachetti blinks but takes it well.

Giachetti tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ward sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Giachetti somewhat.
Ward defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Giachetti.
Giachetti takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Ward feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Giachetti sprawling to the canvas! Giachetti rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ward finish him?!

Giachetti is rocked!

That has opened up Alberto Giachetti's cut even more.
Giachetti is holding his hands too far apart here. Ward throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Giachetti is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
