Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dong Dong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Olof (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dong Dong has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dong Dong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, John Olof!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dong fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dong is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Olof.
Dong avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
John Olof seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Olof stuffs the takedown.
Dong shoots for a double leg takedown but Olof sprawls well. He's pushed Dong's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dong Dong. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Olof moves into the clinch.

Olof breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Olof shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Olof was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Dong really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Olof lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Olof takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Dong is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Despite being in the dominant position, John Olof just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Olof swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dong shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Olof counters by clinching up.
Dong takes a shot to the head.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Olof creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
A short body shot lands from Olof as the two fighters clinch.

Olof gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Olof is looking to advance position but Dong won't allow it.

Olof decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

and Olof counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Dong!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Olof dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Dong bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Olof's guard.

Dong drops back, looking for a kneebar! Olof looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Olof looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Olof!

Olof is breathing heavily.

Olof decides to stand back up. Olof steps back and let's Dong get back to his feet.

and Olof counters by clinching up.
Dong tries to pull guard but Olof won't allow it.

Dong shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Olof counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Olof decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dong, up you get!

Olof lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dong at a distance.
Dong gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Olof counters by moving into the clinch.

Olof manages to break the clinch.
Dong fails in his attempt to clinch.

and Olof counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Olof really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dong. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dong had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Olof is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Dong Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Olof's back instead.
Olof wants to control his opponent's hands but Dong gets his hands free.

Dong has the hooks in. Olof is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Olof manages to reverse the position and now he's in Dong's guard. Nice work there by Olof.

Dong has his foot on Olof's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Olof works his way back into a safe position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Olof stands and steps away. Dong gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Dong is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Olof tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dong swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Olof counters with a straight right hand.

Dong feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Dong stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Olof swivels though and keeps the full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dong has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Dong is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Olof has managed to escape the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Olof showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Dong doesn't succeed with the takedown

Dong is looking for a sweep. Olof is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
It looks like Olof is going to stand back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Olof lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Dong backwards.
Dong drops down looking for an ankle pick but Olof pulls his leg out and moves away.

Olof closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Olof fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

John Olof has got the better of the ground game so far.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dong tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dong Dong.
Well Olof has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
