Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Lane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and InYa Faase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Lane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, InYa Faase!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Faase closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Lane missing with knees to the body.

Faase's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Faase connects with a body shot that sends Lane's belly button to the back.
Faase shoots in but Lane avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lane throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
No luck for Lane with that takedown attempt.
Lane throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lane takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Lane throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Faase's waist but Faase gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lane off to one side.

Lane shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lane showed some decent athleticism there.
Faase is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Lane is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lane working Faase over with strikes.
Lane tries to pass to full mount but Faase defends it.
Faase wants to get back to his feet.
Lane is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Faase can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lane is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lane lands a nice short elbow.
Faase is trying to get back to full guard.
Nice strikes from Lane there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lane looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Lane has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Faase defend it? Lane steps over the head and cranks it - Faase is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Lane!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jack Lane!
Jack Lane decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
