PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ajax Valhar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danillo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valhar's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Strange Clouds. Ajax Valhar has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ajax Valhar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danillo Silva!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valhar shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Silva throws a series of punches but Valhar avoids them all with ease.
Valhar dives in and grabs Silva's left leg, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes down on Valhar's head and hops out.
Valhar fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ajax Valhar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Silva closes the distance and clinches.
Silva trying to control the position but instead, Valhar has worked for underhooks and has pushed Silva into the cage.
Silva throws a punch but it's blocked by Valhar.

Valhar looking for a takedown.
Valhar has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Silva is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Silva breaks the clinch.
Valhar shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Valhar keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Valhar which made him look bad.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Valhar swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Silva fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Valhar, pushing him back against the cage.
Silva wants a takedown.
Silva looks gassed!
Valhar drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Silva gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Valhar tightens his grip and picks Silva up, before dumping him to the ground. Silva manages to land in guard.
Valhar working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Valhar trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Valhar tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.
Valhar trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom.

Valhar drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Silva dives on top into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Valhar looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Valhar trying to keep a closed guard but Silva is proving a slippery customer.
Silva wants to control from the top but Valhar keeps moving.

Valhar is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Silva is looking to stand up but Valhar won't let him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Silva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Valhar misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Silva leaves Valhar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Silva tries to clinch there but Valhar circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valhar closes this distance looking for a takedown but Silva circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ajax Valhar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Silva is breathing heavily.

Valhar shoots in but no luck this time.

Silva gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Valhar to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Valhar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Silva trying to keep a closed guard but Valhar is proving a slippery customer.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Valhar is looking to work some ground and pound but Silva has wrist control.

Valhar postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Silva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Valhar, into his guard.
Valhar wants to sweep but no luck.

Valhar working for submissions but it's allowed Silva to get to half guard.
Valhar wants to get back to full guard but Silva has mounted him!
Valhar tries to reverse the position but Silva maintains control.
Valhar wants to hold on but Silva pushes him away.
Valhar throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Valhar is desperately trying to improve his position but Silva has a good base and remains in mount.

Valhar tries to hold on but Silva pushes him away.
Valhar is trying to escape the mount.
Valhar wants to control but Silva is having none of it.
Silva sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Valhar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Valhar off to one side.
Silva defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Valhar.
Silva scores with a head kick. Valhar tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Valhar looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Silva wants to clinch.

Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Valhar fails with the takedown.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Valhar.
Silva can't do much from the bottom here.

Sloppy strikes there by Valhar.

Valhar goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Silva rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Valhar's guard! Nice work there by Silva!

Valhar looking for a guillotine here but Silva defends easily.

Valhar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Silva trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Valhar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Silva pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Valhar is keeping the position for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ajax Valhar showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Valhar, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
