PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miko Saapo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edgars Simans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edgars Simans told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saapo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Simans is fending him off so far but Saapo persists. Nope, Simans circles away and we're back to standing.

Simans instigates a clinch.
Saapo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Simans is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Saapo works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Saapo connects with a nice short shot to Simans's temple.

Simans has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Saapo is working away from the top position though.
Saapo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Simans!
Simans is wriggling around trying to escape.
Saapo looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Simans covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
