PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tony Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Trevor Simpson!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson tries to clinch up.
Simpson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Stark lands with a good body shot.
Good standup being displayed there by Stark as he connects with a hook.
Simpson checks the leg kick nicely there.
Simpson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Simpson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stark defends it nicely.
Simpson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Stark dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Simpson. That did some damage!
Simpson needs to keep his hands up - Stark had a free shot at his head there.
Simpson steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Stark. That one must have hurt.

Simpson closes the distance and pushes Stark back into the cage.
Simpson wants to stall.

Stark escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stark jabs at Simpson's body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Simpson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Stark scores with a hook to the body. Simpson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Stark keeps the fight on the outside.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stark lands with a good body shot.
Stark throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Simpson rushes Stark and presses him up against the cage.

Stark ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Stark no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Simpson trying to control the position from guard on top but Stark is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Simpson looks gassed!

Simpson drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Simpson seems to have locked his on tight now - Stark screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Simpson, as he picks up the win!
