PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drunk Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TT Twister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). TT Twister told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Twister closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jones to the mat! Jones manages to get full guard.
Twister throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Twister controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Twister throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Twister scoring with punches to the head and body.
Twister controlling from the top position.
Twister slips nicely into half guard.

Twister is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Twister on the ground.
Twister is taking a breather. Jones says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Jones won't allow Twister to pass to mount.
Still in half guard, Twister seems content to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by TT Twister.
Jones looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Twister dives in and scores a takedown into Jones's guard.
Twister throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Twister stands up over Jones, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Twister has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Twister lands a couple of digs.
Twister loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Twister is in close to Jones's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Twister is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Twister slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Twister looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Twister not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Jones looking to control.
Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Twister working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Twister seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Twister is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Jones is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

TT Twister was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
