PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peeta Paka Spiduhmon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate North (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spiduhmon comes into the arena with Bob Marley - Three Little Birds blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
North shoots in for a takedown but Spiduhmon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Spiduhmon moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

North closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
North is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

North stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Spiduhmon.

A punch lands to the side of North 's head but he takes it in his stride.

North chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Spiduhmon can pounce on him.
Spiduhmon fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and North has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

North's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

North shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Spiduhmon's guard.
