Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Bane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Boyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bane comes to the cage accompanied by Ego Draconis. Boyd has chosen Family Tradition as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Boyd!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bane swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bane on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Left hook, right uppercut from Boyd.
Boyd lands the left hand.
Boyd changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Boyd has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Boyd there as he acknowledges the shot.
Boyd throws a looping overhand right but Bane ducks down to avoid it.
Bane walks into a jab.
Bane slips under a jab from Boyd.
Boyd fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bane is trying hard to land a takedown here. Boyd sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Bane ducks under a wild hook from Boyd.
Bane misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Boyd misses with a looping right.
Boyd with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Alexander Boyd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Boyd moves away from the strike by Bane.
Boyd stuffs the takedown attempt from Bane. Bane gets slowly back to his feet.
Boyd tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bane paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bane takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Nice uppercut lands for Bane. That snapped Boyd's head back.
Boyd throws a lazy body kick
and Bane counters with a nice leg kick.
Bane fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Boyd on the side of the head.
Bane moves forwards but Boyd connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Boyd lands a nice shot that snaps Bane's head back.
Bane goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Bane walks into a stiff left hand from Boyd.
Boyd takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Boyd is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bane sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Boyd's defenses. It connects perfectly with Boyd's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Xavier Bane!
