The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Lopes or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.
Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Pedro Lopes just wasn't active enough.
Silva scores with a one two! Lopes had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Pedro Lopes has been cut.
Lopes closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Lopes pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lopes is breathing heavily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lopes.

Silva thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Lopes if he has to take too many more of those.
Silva throws a nice looking combination but Lopes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Silva lands with a big right hook that stumbles Lopes - he's out on his feet here! Silva follows up with another monster hook that separates Lopes from consciousness! Lopes falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Silva stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
