The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Merkel misses with a wild body shot.
Merkel throws a hook but Knox avoids it easily.
Merkel bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Knox tries for a takedown but Merkel sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Knox swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Merkel.
Merkel jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Knox throws a sloppy head kick and Merkel moves out of range easily.
Merkel scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Merkel lands a big head kick that sends Knox tumbling to the mat! Merkel takes a step backwards and waves Knox back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Johnny Knox has been cut.
Merkel throws a sloppy head kick and Knox moves out of range easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Merkel misses the target.
Merkel throws a series of punches but Knox moves out of range.
Knox shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Merkel but Merkel pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Merkel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Merkel looks to score with a jab to the body but Knox is just out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Merkel cracks Knox with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
A decent looking cross lands there for Merkel.
Knox misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Merkel.
An inside leg kick from Knox misses.
Knox slips under a jab.
Merkel lands with a good body shot.

Merkel drops Knox with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Knox looks back up at him and smiles so Merkel waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Knox is rocked!

Merkel jabs Knox to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Knox is still on wobbly legs! Can Merkel finish him?
Knox looks gassed!
Knox is aggressively charging in as Merkel backs up avoiding any damage. Merkel tosses out a jab and Knox runs right into it face first! Knox is out cold! Merkel dropped down on all fours and is barking in Knox's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
