Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tyrone Doherty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Skerlik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Skerlik!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Doherty dives in and scores a takedown into Skerlik's guard.
Doherty trying to move into half guard but instead Skerlik has managed to sweep!
Skerlik pushing down on Doherty's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Doherty is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Skerlik seems to be working for a kimura but Doherty defends the submission attempt.
Doherty really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Skerlik passes to side control.
Skerlik trying to control the position but Doherty is working away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Doherty gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Skerlik is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Doherty is surviving well by controlling Skerlik's body position as best he can.

Skerlik working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Skerlik wants to control the pace but Doherty is squirming around nicely.
Doherty working to try and regain half guard.

Skerlik has hold of Doherty's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Doherty manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Skerlik has control of Doherty's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Doherty regains control of the situation pretty easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Doherty prevents Skerlik from improving position.
You can see the frustration on Doherty's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Doherty knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Skerlik on the ground.
Skerlik has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Doherty!

Skerlik goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Doherty turns into him and now he's in Skerlik's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Skerlik slips nicely into half guard.

Skerlik working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Doherty is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Skerlik has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Doherty taps out!
