Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Cote!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcos Dias!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cote fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dias, pushing him back against the cage.

Cote pulls Dias into guard.
Cote tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dias not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dias stops Cote from standing up.
Dias must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Dias wants to pass the guard but Cote is keeping the position.
Cote is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dias is controlling him.
Dias tries to free his leg and advance position but Cote is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cote tries to clinch but Dias is having none of it.
Dias takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Cote shoots in and drives through. Dias sprawls well.

Cote darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Dias is looking for a sweep. Cote is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Cote wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dias keeps working.

Cote seems to be working for a kimura but Dias defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dias gets caught flat footed, as Cote shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dias tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dias is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dias looks gassed!
Dias keeping moving, preventing Cote from controlling successfully.
Cote looking to pass the guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cote tries to clinch there but Dias circles away.

Cote throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dias tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cote is in Dias's guard.

Cote stands and steps away. Dias gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cote tries to clinch up.

Cote moves into range and clinches up with Dias.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cote jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Dias is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dias and Cote has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Cote decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dias to his feet.

Dias is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cote has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Dias defend it? Cote steps over the head and cranks it - Dias is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Cote!
