The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Howard rushes Compton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Compton tries to pull guard but Howard won't allow it.
Compton tries to pull guard but Howard forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Howard prevents a body shot from Compton.
Compton wants to stall.
Compton throws a head punch that misses.
Compton misses with a body punch.
Compton tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Juwan Howard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Compton.

Howard turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Howard lands a nice forearm strike.
Compton wants to get back to his feet but Howard drags him back down.

Howard in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Compton is trying to improve his position.
Howard tries to advance to mount but Compton instead regains half guard.
Howard with the ground and pound but Compton uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Howard looking to sit in guard and control but Compton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Compton trying to control but Howard is working from the bottom.
Compton pushes down on Howard's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Compton is trying to work for a kimura but Howard is defending well.

Compton is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Howard doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Compton.
Howard wants to get back to his feet.
Howard knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Compton on the ground.

Compton is looking to take a break and control but Howard is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Howard wants to stand back up but Compton manages to pass into side control.

Compton has an Americana. Howard didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Compton is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Compton hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
