Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

SP shoots in and bounces Deborde off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Deborde wants to sweep here but SP controlling him for the moment.

Deborde is looking for a triangle but SP pushes his legs off easily.

SP decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from SP.
SP throws an overhand right that lands on Deborde's shoulder, as Deborde tries to avoid the shot.
SP ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Deborde moves away.
SP misses with a few strikes there.
Good exchange - SP coming out on top.
SP doesn't manage to clinch there - Deborde circles away.
SP tries to clinch up but Deborde circles away and keeps his distance.
SP swinging wilding here.

SP ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Deborde moves away.

SP clinches.

SP breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Deborde changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. SP looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
SP prevents Deborde from moving into mount.

Deborde goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, SP rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Deborde's guard! Nice work there by SP!
SP scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Deborde escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. SP gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
SP wants to control from the top but Deborde keeps moving.

SP avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Deborde looks gassed!
SP is looking to stand up but Deborde won't let him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Deborde looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

SP gets to his feet. Deborde looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
SP misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Deborde.
SP tries to clinch up but Deborde circles away and keeps his distance.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Deborde tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Deborde thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Deborde tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Deborde has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

SP is working hard here to advance position.

Deborde is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but SP is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Deborde tries to move into full mount but can't pass SP's legs.
SP manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Deborde manages to get to full guard.

Deborde escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. SP gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
SP is looking to stand up but Deborde won't let him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Deborde manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Deborde breaks from SP's wrist control and lands an elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Deborde has control of SP's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and SP regains control of the situation pretty easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

SP on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if SP tries to get out of the position.
Deborde prevents SP from getting back to his feet.
Deborde slips nicely into half guard.
SP tries to get to full guard but Deborde has control of the leg.
D Dub Deborde has got the better of the ground game so far.

Deborde wants to work for an arm triangle but SP is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Deborde is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, SP has managed to free his arm - good work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Deborde has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can SP defend it? Deborde steps over the head and cranks it - SP is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Deborde!
