Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johan Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Axel Muricoch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johan Machado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Axel Muricoch!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Machado tries to keep at a distance but Muricoch has taken the fight into the clinch.
Machado is trying to push Muricoch away but Muricoch has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Muricoch gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Muricoch is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Machado sees it coming and defends easily.
Muricoch works his way into side control.
Machado is trying to get back to half guard.
Machado is trying to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Machado bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Machado is looking to clinch.

Muricoch changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Machado looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Machado tries to bench press Muricoch off him but Muricoch keeps the position.
Machado is working hard here to advance position.

Muricoch wants to stand but Machado is controlling his arm.
Machado tries to buck Muricoch off but Muricoch is having none of it.
Machado knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Muricoch on the ground.
Machado sneaks back into half guard.

Machado is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Muricoch pulls his head out easily.
Muricoch is looking to take a break and control but Machado is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Machado tries to improve position but can't.
Machado tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Muricoch looks gassed!
Machado bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Machado drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Muricoch manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Machado has Muricoch in his guard.

Machado is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Muricoch is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Machado working for a triangle but Muricoch defends it easily.

Machado escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Muricoch gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Muricoch avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Machado is looking for a triangle but Muricoch pushes his legs off easily.

Machado has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Muricoch can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Machado has his foot on Muricoch's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Muricoch works his way back into a safe position though.

Machado is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Muricoch is aware though and is defending well.

Machado escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Muricoch gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Muricoch wanted to stand there but Machado had control of the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Machado is looking for a triangle but Muricoch pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johan Machado dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Muricoch stuffs the takedown attempt from Machado. Machado gets slowly back to his feet.
Machado shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Muricoch defends it nicely.
Machado changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Muricoch tries to avoid it but Machado manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Muricoch to the ground. Muricoch escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johan Machado. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Machado shoots in but no luck this time.

Machado drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Muricoch wants to control but Machado postures up.
Muricoch is pushing Machado's head away, looking to escape. Machado manages to hold on to the position though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Machado is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Muricoch looks calm but he's in trouble here. Machado gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Muricoch is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Machado lets go of the hold and Muricoch can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Johan Machado!
A very excited looking Johan Machado made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
