Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Coulter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Hanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Andrew Coulter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Shawn Hanson!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanson lands a leg kick that knocks Coulter off balance momentarily.
Hanson stuffs the takedown attempt from Coulter. Coulter gets slowly back to his feet.
Hanson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Hanson shoots for a double leg takedown but Coulter sprawls well. He's pushed Hanson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hanson lands a head kick!

Hanson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Coulter looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Hanson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Coulter is adopting a defensive guard.
Hanson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Coulter throws a sloppy head kick and Hanson moves out of range easily.
Coulter shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hanson as he avoids it easily.

and Coulter counters with a one-two to the body.

Hanson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hanson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Coulter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Coulter holds on and takes a little breather.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Coulter is looking for a triangle but Hanson pushes his legs off easily.
Coulter utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Coulter is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Coulter has Hanson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hanson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Hanson is looking to take this one to the mat.

Coulter gets control of Hanson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Coulter will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
