PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Tinsdell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Williamson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tinsdell comes to the cage accompanied by "Left Behind" by Slipknot. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Tinsdell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Williamson!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Eddie Farnsworth and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tinsdell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Williamson's guard.
Williamson keeping full guard, as Tinsdell tries to pass.
Williamson is looking to stand up but Tinsdell isn't so interested in that idea.
Tinsdell is pushing down on Williamson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Williamson is fighting to maintain full guard but Tinsdell has managed to sneak the leg through.
Tinsdell controlling the action here.

Tinsdell is working for a kimura but Williamson is defending it quite comfortably.
Tinsdell works his foot free and advances to mount.
Williamson wants to try and get back to his feet.

Tinsdell has control of Williamson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Williamson regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Tinsdell is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Williamson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Williamson shrugs it off.

Tinsdell with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tinsdell wants to finish this one by submission but Williamson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Tinsdell.

Tinsdell is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Williamson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Williamson stops Tinsdell from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Tinsdell tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Tinsdell looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tinsdell jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Williamson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Williamson and Tinsdell has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Williamson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Tinsdell is controlling him well.
Tinsdell is looking to take a break and control but Williamson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Tinsdell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tinsdell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Williamson explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Tinsdell fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Tinsdell shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tinsdell shoots in but no luck this time.

and Williamson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Tinsdell keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Williamson closes the distance and pushes Tinsdell back into the cage.

Williamson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tinsdell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Tinsdell shoots in and gets a takedown into Williamson's guard.

Tinsdell thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Williamson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tinsdell is aware though and is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Williamson is looking to stand up but Tinsdell isn't so interested in that idea.

Tinsdell drops back looking for a leg! Williamson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Williamson manages to kick Tinsdell off! Tinsdell jumps back into Williamson's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tinsdell.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Williamson pushes Tinsdell off looking to stand but Tinsdell dives back in and keeps control.
Anthony Tinsdell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Tinsdell is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Williamson looks calm but he's in trouble here. Tinsdell gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Williamson is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Tinsdell lets go of the hold and Williamson can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Anthony Tinsdell!
Anthony Tinsdell decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
