Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Reggie Lafleur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Smith!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lafleur is pulling down on Smith's head to control his posture.
Smith trying to control but Lafleur is working from the bottom.
Smith controlling from the top position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jake Smith wasn't active enough on the ground.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Lafleur. Smith shrugs it off though.

Lafleur scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lafleur decides to stand back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Smith is defended easily by Lafleur.
A solid body kick from Lafleur.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Smith.
Smith looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.


It looks like Jake Smith has been cut.

Lafleur drives through and clinches with Smith against the cage.
Smith tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lafleur smiles and moves away.
Reggie Lafleur has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Smith.
Smith looks to clinch
and Lafleur counters with a nice low kick that buckles Smith's knee momentarily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smith throws a shot from downtown. Lafleur moves away and avoids it.
Lafleur connects with a body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lafleur throws a head kick that misses.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Smith closes the distance looking to clinch
and Lafleur counters with a big head kick but Smith shrugs it off.

Lafleur moves into range and clinches up with Smith.

Lafleur escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smith shoots in for a double leg but Lafleur sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Smith lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lafleur drops Smith with a beautiful combination! Smith stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Lafleur is looking for the KO!


Smith is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A head kick by Lafleur - that's a beauty! Smith is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Lafleur can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Reggie Lafleur!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Reggie Lafleur waved his t-shirt featuring Steel Terror-Trition: Video Proven 160Q's logo in front of the cameras.
