Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Roper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saxon Hynes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hynes feints a jab promting Roper to slip. Hynes then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Roper slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

It looks like James Roper has been cut.
Roper scores with a body shot.
Hynes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Roper moves in looking to clinch but Hynes pushes him off.
Roper tries for a takedown but Hynes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Roper fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hynes stuffs the takedown.
Nice defenses there by Hynes.
Roper looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hynes is fending him off so far but Roper persists. Nope, Hynes circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Roper. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Roper shoots in looking for a takedown but Hynes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Roper's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Roper is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

James Roper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hynes closes the distance and lands a one-two.

and Hynes counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hynes wants to control but Roper is keeping him busy.
Hynes works his way into side control.
Roper gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Hynes is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Roper is staying active underneath Hynes, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hynes looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hynes throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hynes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Roper. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Roper had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hynes defends it easily.

Hynes is posturing up here but Roper has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Hynes tries to roll out but it's too tight and Hynes has to tap! Slick submission there by Roper!
