Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Errol Flynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry McKinnon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barry McKinnon will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Errol Flynn!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Barry McKinnon!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot by McKinnon.
McKinnon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Flynn tries to move into range but McKinnon moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
A combination from McKinnon does no damage.
Flynn shoots in but no luck this time.

Flynn gets a double leg takedown into McKinnon's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Flynn with a nice head shot there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

McKinnon manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

McKinnon is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Flynn has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Flynn!
Flynn throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

McKinnon wants to sweep but no luck.
Flynn trying to control but McKinnon is working from the bottom.
Flynn makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Flynn avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Flynn trying to control the position from guard on top but McKinnon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

McKinnon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Flynn is controlling him.
Flynn working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of McKinnon's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Flynn drops back looking for a leg! McKinnon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McKinnon manages to kick Flynn off! Flynn jumps back into McKinnon's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McKinnon looking to control.
Flynn scoring with punches to the head and body.
Flynn looking to sit in guard and control but McKinnon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Flynn is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Flynn has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
McKinnon trying to control the position from guard on top but Flynn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Flynn has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. McKinnon is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Flynn.

Flynn turns into McKinnon and is now in his guard.
McKinnon wants to control the position but Flynn says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Flynn is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
McKinnon is trying to maintain the position but Flynn is very close to passing his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Errol Flynn will probably get the nod.
That's time! Flynn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



McKinnon drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

McKinnon looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
McKinnon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Flynn keeps working.
McKinnon taking a break here but Flynn is having none of it and regains half guard.
McKinnon is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Flynn is doing well to control the position and prevent McKinnon from advancing to side control.

McKinnon thows a huge punch but Flynn dodges it nicely.

McKinnon slips a nice elbow through Flynn's hands, connecting with Flynn's forehead.

McKinnon is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Flynn has managed to free his arm - good work.

Errol Flynn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

McKinnon is trying to work for a kimura but Flynn is defending well.
McKinnon content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

McKinnon is working for a submission of some sort.

McKinnon seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
McKinnon trying to mount his opponent but Flynn defends it.
Flynn is staying active underneath McKinnon, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

McKinnon wanted to stand there but Flynn had control of the position.
Flynn has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

That's time! Flynn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Flynn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McKinnon but McKinnon pushes him off and we're back to square one.

McKinnon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Flynn sprawls well initially but McKinnon persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Flynn is trying to maintain the position but McKinnon is very close to passing his half guard.
McKinnon tries to pass the half guard into mount. Flynn knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Flynn moves into full guard.
McKinnon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Flynn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Flynn on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Flynn tries to get out of the position.

Flynn working for a triangle but McKinnon defends it easily.

McKinnon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Flynn's guard.

Flynn is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McKinnon's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McKinnon's back!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Flynn is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. McKinnon defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Flynn doesn't have the hooks in and McKinnon manages to turn into his guard.
Flynn has a closed guard, preventing McKinnon from standing up.
McKinnon trying to control the position from guard on top but Flynn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

McKinnon wants to stand but Flynn has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
McKinnon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Flynn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Flynn seems keen to control McKinnon's posture.
McKinnon has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Flynn is proving hard to escape from.

McKinnon stands and steps away. Flynn gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

McKinnon scores with a takedown into Flynn's guard.
McKinnon postures up in Flynn's guard and throws a big left but Flynn blocks it.

McKinnon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Flynn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McKinnon has managed to get both his arms back between Flynn's legs - danger averted.

McKinnon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Flynn is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McKinnon is aware though and is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McKinnon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McKinnon throws a big elbow that misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
Barry McKinnon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well McKinnon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3 rounds of action, we go to the scorecards for a decision.
