Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Juan Tamad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Sparks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Sparks's choice of entrance music: Sparks. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tamad moves out of range of the strikes.
Tamad walks into a jab.
Sparks avoids the head kick by Tamad.

Tamad has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Tamad creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sparks sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Sparks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tamad. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tamad is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sparks is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Tamad to the mat. Tamad regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
