PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vergil Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Proud Music kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Vergil Rua has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Rua feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Millers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Miller avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rua misses with a series of wild punches.
Some wild striking there from Rua.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Miller dives in and grabs Rua's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rua pushes down on Miller's head and hops out.
Rua tries to bum rush Miller with a series of wild strikes but Miller uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rua circles away from the clinch attempt.
Miller tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Miller takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Miller uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rua.
Rua misses with a two punch combination.
Rua throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Miller.
Rua slips under a jab.
Miller on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Miller wants to clinch up but Rua keeps it at a distance.
Rua swats away the attempt to clinch by Miller.

Miller clinches up against the ropes.
Rua is trying to break free.

Rua is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Miller is keeping busy.
Miller tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rua's elbow.

Rua is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Miller can't fight it off and eventually Rua manages to take the fight to the floor. Miller looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rua misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Miller.
Miller throws a right and a left that both miss.

Rua drops Miller with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Miller looks back up at him and smiles so Rua waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Miller is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rua fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Miller square on the jaw! Damn, Miller is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vergil Rua!
