The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracel shoots in and bounces Connor off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Connor has his foot on Gracel's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gracel works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Connor is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gracel is just riding it out for now. Connor eventually gives up the hold.

Gracel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Connor gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gracel is looking for a triangle but Connor pushes his legs off easily.

Gracel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Connor is one step ahead there.

Connor drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Connor jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Connor wants to pass the guard but Gracel is keeping the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Connor drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Gracel is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Connor's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Gracel closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Connor to the mat! Connor manages to get full guard.

Gracel is sitting in close to Connor's body. Connor has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Gracel is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Gracel is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Connor.
