Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Ladies Love Me. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jon Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Rashad Evans!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans throws a hook but Jones avoids it easily.
Evans swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jones.


It looks like Jon Jones has been cut.
Evans circles away from the clinch attempt.
Evans keeps the fight on the outside.
A jab from Evans does it's job there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Horrible takedown by Evans or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad.
Evans closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Evans pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jones connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Evans connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jones's hands.
Jones looks to land a combination but Evans avoids it well.

Jones tries to bum rush Evans with a series of wild strikes but Evans uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Jones does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Evans looks to land a right hand but Jones moved out of range.

Jones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Evans manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Evans throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jones misses with a low kick.
Jones showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Evans.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Evans counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Jones takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Evans takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses.
Evans waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jones.
Jon Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Evans throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
Evans will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jones with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Evans to score with a decent uppercut.

Evans swings around for an armbar but Jones sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Evans's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jones wants to get up but he can't break Evans's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Evans counters with a takedown into side control.
Evans is staying tight to Jones's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Evans fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Evans throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Evans off to one side.
Jones is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Evans.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
Evans is keen to just control but Jones is a slippery customer.
Evans takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Rashad Evans comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Evans has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
