Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cameron St James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Revan Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cameron St James!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Revan Gracie!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

St James drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
St James moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Gracie manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
St James seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
St James is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

St James seems to be working for a kimura but Gracie defends the submission attempt.
Gracie wants to get back to full guard.
St James slows the pace down in half guard.
St James uses his free foot to push down on Gracie's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gracie.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

St James connects with a leg kick. Gracie looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


St James comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Revan Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? St James is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, St James circles away and we're back to standing.

St James throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gracie throws out a loose jab but St James uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gracie throws a right hand that St James ducks under and follows up with a left that St James also avoids with ease.
St James throws a head kick but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with St James, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes St James against the ropes but St James circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

St James tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gracie sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten St James somewhat.

Gracie is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, St James asserts his dominance and retains side control.

St James looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gracie with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
St James is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gracie can do to turn this around?

St James fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gracie has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

That's time! St James's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
