Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Renato Cardoso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Ballzonya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cardoso comes to the cage accompanied by Samba de Janeiro. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cardoso tries to throw a body punch but Ballzonya avoids it by throwing Cardoso back against the cage.
Ballzonya changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cardoso fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Cardoso closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cardoso lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ballzonya controls Cardoso momentarily but Cardoso frees himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cardoso is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ballzonya!
Cardoso is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Ballzonya has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Ballzonya!
Cardoso might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ballzonya's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Ballzonya wants to control from the top but Cardoso keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Renato Cardoso will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
