Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dedrick Scrivens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Biggie Smalls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Scrivens might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Make it Rain. Smalls has chosen Juciy as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dedrick Scrivens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Biggie Smalls!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scrivens looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smalls is fending him off so far but Scrivens persists. Nope, Smalls circles away and we're back to standing.
Scrivens tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smalls paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Scrivens shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Smalls defends it nicely.

Smalls has closed the distance and engaged Scrivens in a clinch.

Smalls is trying to trip Scrivens. He has hold of a leg but Scrivens is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Smalls persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Smalls trying to control but Scrivens is working from the bottom.
Smalls trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Scrivens manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Smalls is looking to control Scrivens's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Smalls avoid being mounted?
Smalls is positioning himself well to prevent Scrivens advancing to mount.

Smalls makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Smalls takes a kick to the side of the head.
Scrivens shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Smalls counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dedrick Scrivens. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smalls pushes down on Scrivens's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Scrivens is trying to get back to full guard.
Scrivens is breathing heavily.
Smalls is taking a breather. Scrivens says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Smalls thows a huge punch but Scrivens dodges it nicely.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Biggie Smalls wasn't active enough on the ground.
Scrivens looks for a takedown but Smalls sprawls well.
Smalls pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Smalls keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Scrivens's efforts to push away.
Scrivens misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Scrivens is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Smalls to keep the fight standing.

Smalls escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Scrivens is wriggling around but Smalls manages to pass to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Scrivens has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Smalls after a bit of a struggle.
Smalls drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Smalls has hold of one of Scrivens's legs. Scrivens is fighting the takedown attempt but Smalls gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Scrivens is trying to keep Smalls in close.

Smalls turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Smalls manages to end up in side control.

Dedrick Scrivens is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Smalls closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scrivens tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scrivens seems a little lost for a moment, as Smalls dominates the positioning.

Smalls decides to stand back up. Smalls steps back and let's Scrivens get back to his feet.

Smalls closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smalls lands in his opponent's guard.
Smalls is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Scrivens not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Smalls is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Biggie Smalls was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Smalls throws a leg kick that misses.
Smalls shoots in for a double leg but Scrivens sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Biggie Smalls showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Scrivens is trying to pull guard but Smalls has him pressed against the cage.

Smalls jumps into guard, dragging Scrivens to the mat.
Scrivens pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smalls is keeping the position for now.
Scrivens trying to control the position from guard on top but Smalls is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smalls is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Smalls holds on and takes a little breather.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Scrivens wants to stand but Smalls has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Biggie Smalls has got the better of the ground game so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dedrick Scrivens.

Smalls manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Scrivens on his heels. He'll look to pass Scrivens's guard now, I'm sure.
Smalls passes Scrivens's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Smalls lands strikes from half guard.
Smalls is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Scrivens is trying to control but can't.
Smalls stops Scrivens from getting back to his feet.

Smalls in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Scrivens tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Smalls!
