PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave The Don (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Anders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Dave The Don has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dave The Don seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Don's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Anders connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! The Don scrambles back to his feet.
Donk. The Don catches Anders right on the button with a cross.
Anders lands with an overhand left.

Anders tries to keep at a distance but The Don has taken the fight into the clinch.
Anders with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

The Don's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Anders looks to land a left hand but The Don moved out of range nicely.
The Don avoids the head kick by Anders.
Nice uppercut there from Anders.
A combination from The Don does no damage.
The fighters circling - Anders throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

The Don gets a clinch.

The Don pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The Don avoids a punch combination nicely.
Anders works the jab nicely.
The Don uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Anders has time to react.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The Don forces Anders back against the cage and clinches.
Anders goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

The Don breaks from the clinch.
The Don on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Anders. The Don does a little dance to reset his feet.
The fighters circling - Anders throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Anders has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
A head kick misses from Anders.
The Don throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Anders.
No joy there for The Don, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Anders fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

The Don takes the fight into the clinch.

The Don escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Anders throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Anders throws a combination but it was largely blocked by The Don.
Anders takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A punch lands to the side of Anders 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Anders feints a jab promting The Don to slip. Anders then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. The Don slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
A swing and a miss from Anders.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The Don throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Anders looks gassed!

The Don instigates a clinch.

The Don escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The Don moves into the clinch.

The Don breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Anders scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. The Don doesn't seem bothered though.

The Don gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The Don gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Anders.

The Don closes the distance and pushes Anders back into the cage.

Anders dodges the punch combination from The Don.
Anders scores with the left hand. The Don knows he should have avoided that one.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Anders scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A telegraphed right hand from Anders misses the target.
Anders throws a head kick that half lands.
Anders misses with the combination.
Anders throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Anders should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The Don closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

The Don breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A punch combination from Anders misses.
Anders lands with a kick to the temple. The Don shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Anders jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
The Don uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Anders.
The Don moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Anders works over The Don's head and body with a nice combination.
Anders avoids the head kick by The Don.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The Don fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Anders, pushing him back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The Don escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The Don lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Anders can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from The Don and Anders drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by The Don.
