Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kujo Yoritsune (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yoritsune comes to the cage accompanied by JAPAN. Anthony Pettis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Anthony Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Pettis.
Yoritsune throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nice uppercut there from Yoritsune.
Yoritsune fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Yoritsune avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Yoritsune looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Yoritsune swats away the attempt to clinch by Pettis.
Yoritsune just misses with a punch to the body.
Pettis tries to clinch but Yoritsune moves out of range.
Pettis tries to clinch there but Yoritsune circles away.
Pettis darts in trying to clinch
and Yoritsune cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Anthony Pettis has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kujo Yoritsune seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yoritsune takes a swing at Pettis's ribcage but misses.
Pettis tries to close the distance and clinch but Yoritsune swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pettis is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.
Pettis avoids the body shot from Yoritsune.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pettis moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Yoritsune has worked his arm free - good work by Yoritsune!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's time! Yoritsune's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Pettis wants to clinch up but Yoritsune keeps it at a distance.

Yoritsune has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Pettis finds it's way round the side to connect with Yoritsune's head.
Yoritsune throws a one two combo.

Pettis moves into the clinch.
Pettis goes for a takedown in the clinch but Yoritsune prevents it.

Pettis has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Yoritsune is trying to keep an underhook but Pettis manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Yoritsune is staying active underneath Pettis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Pettis is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Yoritsune has managed to free his arm - good work.
Yoritsune makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Yoritsune.

Pettis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Yoritsune is keeping the position for now.

Pettis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Yoritsune dives on top into guard.

Pettis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Yoritsune here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Pettis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Yoritsune's guard.

The crowd cheers as Yoritsune lands an impressive looking overhand right. Pettis doesn't seem phased though.

Yoritsune moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Pettis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

I would just about give that final round to Anthony Pettis.
I think Pettis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Anthony Pettis rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
