The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez walks forward, straight into a front kick from Stauning.
Mendez is breathing heavily.
Mendez tries to clinch but Stauning moves out of range.
Stauning throws a one two combo.
Stauning connects with a nice looking jab.
Mendez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Stauning finds it's way round the side to connect with Mendez's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nice uppercut there from Stauning.

Stauning takes the fight into the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Mendez just misses with a elbow thrown towards Stauning's brow.
Stauning maintains plum control as Mendez tries to back straight out! Stauning connects with one knee! Two knees! Three, four, five, six...seven unasnwered knees! Mendez blocks the eight but eats the ninth - then collapses! Oh the brutality!
