Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mick Gerrard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Auron Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black misses with a takedown attempt
and Gerrard counters with a three punch combo that has Black backing up. Black nods at Gerrard to acknowledge the strikes.
Gerrard loads up on a big right hand but Black slips the punch.
Gerrard throws the left hand but Black avoids the punch easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Black.

Black dives in and scores a takedown into Gerrard's guard.
Gerrard wants to stand but Black is controlling the position.
Black postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gerrard is looking to stand up but Black isn't so interested in that idea.

Black missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Black working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Black wants to control from the top but Gerrard keeps moving.
Gerrard wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Black manages to pass to side control.

Black is taking a breather. Gerrard says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Black has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Black seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gerrard does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Black connects with a nice short shot to Gerrard's temple.
