Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ilmari Laine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Schilt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ilmari Laine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Harry Schilt!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laine looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Schilt wants to clinch.
Laine fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Laine keeps the fight on the outside.
Schilt tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schilt is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Laine will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Laine shoots in but Schilt avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Laine looks to land a left hand but Schilt moved out of range nicely.
Laine shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Schilt darts in and clinches Laine up against the cage.

Laine works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Schilt wants to stand but Laine is controlling the position.
Schilt utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Laine is looking to work some ground and pound but Schilt has wrist control.
Laine might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Laine stands and throws Schilt's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Schilt is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Laine is controlling him well.
Schilt is not content to let Laine control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Laine, as that shot connected.

Laine feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Schilt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Laine. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Schilt fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Laine, pushing him back against the cage.

Schilt lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Ilmari Laine has been cut.
Schilt throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Laine blocks it with crossed arms.

Schilt throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Oh Laine is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Schilt manages to break the clinch.
Schilt avoids a punch combination nicely.
Laine shoots for a double leg takedown but Schilt sprawls well. He's pushed Laine's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Laine seems to have got his legs back now.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Laine has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Schilt wants to stand but Laine is controlling the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Schilt with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Laine to score with a decent uppercut.

Laine changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Schilt looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Laine has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Schilt regains guard immediately.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Schilt can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

I think Laine has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
