PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Everaldo Nunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Brock Lesnar has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Brock Lesnar seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Everaldo Nunes!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar is looking to clinch.
Lesnar throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lesnar tries to clinch but Nunes moves out of range.
Lesnar swinging wildly here.

Lesnar darts in and clinches Nunes up against the cage.

Lesnar has clasped his hands together around Nunes's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Nunes is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Lesnar off and has taken his back!

Nunes is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Lesnar knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Lesnar for a finish.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lesnar rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Nunes is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Nunes is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Lesnar wants to get back to his feet.

Nunes seems to be looking for submissions.
Nunes slips a nice elbow through Lesnar's hands, connecting with Lesnar's forehead.

Nunes looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lesnar is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nunes pulls his head out easily.
Lesnar is staying active underneath Nunes, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lesnar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lesnar tries to get out of the position.

Lesnar tries to roll over but Nunes keeps him under control.
Nunes trying to mount his opponent but Lesnar defends it.
Nunes throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Nunes wants to pass the guard but Lesnar is defending well.
Nunes wants to take a breather but Lesnar is having none of it.
Lesnar blocking the ground and pound attempt from Nunes.

Lesnar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nunes on the ground.
Nunes wants to take a breather but Lesnar is having none of it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Everaldo Nunes hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Lesnar connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Nunes momentarily.
Lesnar connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Nunes's hands.


It looks like Everaldo Nunes has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lesnar is looking to clinch.
Nunes misses with a takedown
and Lesnar cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nunes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Nunes closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Nunes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lesnar keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lesnar looks to land a combination but Nunes avoids it well.
Lesnar wants to clinch but Nunes slips to the side

and Nunes counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lesnar won't be happy with that.
Lesnar is not content to let Nunes control the position.

Nunes is working to tighten is grip on Lesnar's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Lesnar has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Nunes is really squeezing tight and eventually Lesnar passes out! Nunes breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Everaldo Nunes!
