Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alphonse Gangitano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor comes to the cage accompanied by Anxiety-Papa Roach. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gangitano connects with a solid leg kick.
Gangitano tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gangitano is looking to slow Taylor down with leg kicks.
Crunch! Gangitano slams his shin into Taylor's torso.
Taylor clinches up with Gangitano and pushes him back against the cage.
Gangitano trying to stall but Taylor improves his position.
Gangitano misses with a hook to the ribs.
Gangitano misses with a body punch.
Taylor has clasped his hands together around Gangitano's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Gangitano avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Taylor.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gangitano is trying to get back to half guard.
Taylor is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Gangitano tries to bench press Taylor off him but Taylor keeps the position.

Taylor stands up and beckons Gangitano to his feet.
Gangitano circles away from the clinch attempt.
Taylor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gangitano pinned against the cage. Gangitano gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gangitano tries to land a leg kick but Taylor saw it coming and moves away.
Gangitano fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Gangitano connects with an inside leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Taylor.
Gangitano scores with a head kick. Taylor tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Taylor tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gangitano paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Taylor rushes Gangitano and presses him up against the cage.
Gangitano misses with a punch to the body.
Taylor gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Gangitano on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Taylor seems to be working for a kimura but Gangitano defends the submission attempt.
Taylor throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Taylor is taking a breather. Gangitano says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Taylor landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Taylor is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Taylor tries to pass to full mount but Gangitano defends it.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Taylor missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Taylor takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Gangitano blocking the ground and pound attempt from Taylor.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Taylor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Well, if Taylor is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Taylor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gangitano pinned against the cage. Gangitano gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gangitano lands a nice leg kick that just misses Taylor's sensitive parts.

Taylor lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Taylor is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Gangitano is hurt! He's hurt bad - Taylor fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Gangitano from any more punishment! Congratulations to Taylor! Great finish!

In his post fight interview, David Taylor started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
