Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Ethan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ethan comes into the arena with Danger blaring out of the sound system. Ethan has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Ethan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Payne!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ethan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

and Payne counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Ethan is breathing heavily.

Payne darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Payne is working for a kimura but Ethan is defending it quite comfortably.
Payne is looking to advance position but Ethan won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Payne is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ethan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Payne.

Payne drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ethan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ethan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ethan!

Ethan wants to finish this one by submission but Payne is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ethan.

Payne sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Ethan is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Payne to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Payne shrugs it off.

Ethan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Payne defends it nicely.

Max Payne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Payne bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ethan's head backwards.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Payne can do anything to dispel that myth.

Payne has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ethan is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Payne.
Payne wants to get back to his feet but Ethan drags him back down.

I would just about give that final round to Max Payne.
Well Payne has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
