Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bobby Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Big Slack!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Slack sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat.
Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Slack counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Slack prevents Smith from improving his position.
Slack perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Big Slack.
Smith doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Slack counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smith manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Smith shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Slack defends it nicely.

Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Slack moves out of range easily.
Slack looking to score a takedown here. Smith is defending well but Slack drives through and ends up in Smith's guard.
Slack drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Slack seems to have locked his on tight now - Smith screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Slack, as he picks up the win!
